I am not sure about that although I am a shareholder in, still cheap, Berkeley Energia (BKY) so hope this is the case. Taking a new project into production is a tedious process meaning supply crunches are inevitable. The current price is so low that mines have been shutting down. Obviously the coolest folks are libertarians. And so am I. Amanda Van Dyke has a few dangerous neocon tendancies (foreign policy) and some odd views on the EU but for a Canadian is a pretty libertarian - her fellow countrymen tend to be lefties. That brings me to a total tosser called Nick Curtis, a columnist in the London Evening Standard.
I stress that I am not a regular Standard reader. But on the train back to Bristol last week I happened upon a copy and being bored started to read it. As ever I was struck how folks inside zone 1 of London are a completely alien speciies to the rest of the UK. They have different concerns, interests and views to the rest of us. They are the political, media and corporate elite and they just live on another planet.
Mr Curtis writes on the 10th June about how the busy body sheep shaggers at the Welsh Assembly wish to ban vaping ( "smoking e-cigarettes" in public places). And in the piece he proclaims "I'm a libertarian who believes in personal choice." Great news... a kindred spirit. er....

The big news today is that a true mega star has agreed to fly to Britain for one day only to headline at The UK Investor Show in London on April 5. Meet Ben Edelman. If you are a Blinkx (BLNX) shareholder you will already have done so – you have lost more than 50% of your money since he produced a detailed report on the company.

Edelman shot to prominence in the UK with his recent analysis of Blinkx. Edelman argued that Blinkx adware sneaks onto users’ computers, violates regulatory requirements, and overcharges advertisers. Blinkx denies the allegations. Its share price continues to slide.
Much of Edelman’s recent work examines the activities of Google. In 2010, he uncovered the Google Toolbar continuing to track users’ web browsing even after users asked that the toolbar be disabled and even after the toolbar disappeared from view. His most recent article examines Google’s Mobile Application Distribution Agreement terms – previously-secret documents that he says impede competition by alternatives apps and services, and drive up prices to consumers.
Recently labelled the “web sheriff” by Bloomberg, Edelman will be speaking on the questionable business practices of a variety of Internet companies, ranging from giants like Google to smaller firms including Blinkx.
Edelman joins a 42 strong main stage line up on April 5th including Nigel Wray, Terry Smith, Vin Murria, Evil Knievil, Mark Slater, Dominic Frisby, bear raiders Lucian Miers and Matt Earl and blogging supremo Paul Scott.

Edelman is quoted as saying: “My visits to London are all too rare, but the British market has led the world in many kinds of advertising integrity - I look forward to showing an informed audience a variety of controversial behaviours, including some material not previously seen elsewhere.”

I headed off to Mines & Money in Islington yesterday, largely to see the launch of 100 Inspirational Women in Mining, a new book produced by Amanda Van Dyke and her Women in Mining Organisation. Yes, there was free champagne at the launch.
Well done to Amanda for the book. Under her leadership WIM in London has grown to 1000 members and is taken very seriously and the industry heavyweights at the event testified to that.
The event hall is packed with booths and folks are putting a brave face on life in the industry. Rick Rule of Sprott told them “you’ve felt the pain now wait for the gain.” Sure thing Rick but will everyone enjoy the gain and how long must we wait?
It still does not appear to have sunk in, in some quarters of this world, that investors who have lost 95% plus on companies where management took the piss on remuneration
